Barberino Val d’Elsa is a perfect starting point to discover a place of extraordinary beauty such as Chianti.  Even for those without car, it’s possible to visit the famous cities of San Gimignano, Volterra, Sienna or Florence by an hourly bus service. IL VECCHIO FORNO
The accommodations of Marta have in common the old style of the apartment and the cheap price.
Just a few meters from the Florentine entrance, in a small square  there is the apartment Il Vecchio Forno.
This 45 sqm lovely apartment was the old bakery of the village and it was restored taking care of the ancient characteristics of the medieval village house such as the terracotta floor, old arched celeings and open fire places. It was even left untouched an underground cellar. The apartment Il Vecchio Forno has two entrances: one enter into the kitchen, and the other into the bedroom. It has been furnished with some antique pieces of furniture. The kitchen is large enough to accommodate 4 people and it is well equipped with fridge+freezer, gas stove, and all the cooking tools. In a corner a beautiful open fire place is at your disposal for creating a romantic atmosphere or just for grilling the famous Florentine steak. The bedroom with en-suite  WC/Shower boasts a wonderful break arch and  a chimney. The double bed could easily become a nice couch, so that the bedroom could be  transformed in a living room with fire place. The bedroom door opens on to a small square where the public library is.
In the proximity of the house, the bakery and a grocery store for every day fresh products.
