Vernaccia Wine Tour
San Gimignano is not only one of the most beautiful medieval towns and most visited place of Tuscany, but there one of the most popular Italian white wine has been produced: Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Vernaccia was the first Italian wine in 1966 that received the DOCG recognition which certifies the quality and typicality of the wine. The basic wine has wonderful aromas of white flowers, while the wine aged in wood takes the complexity and longevity that you can match to white meat and great cheeses. Most companies also produce excellent red wines. We start with a traditional Chianti Colli Senesi made with the Sangiovese grape. It is young and ready to drink.
Then you get the great Super Tuscans, which are full-bodied wines suitable for long aging. A white wine, excellent red wines, a wonderful landscape and a beautiful medieval city are the ingredients for an unforgettable day in San Gimignano.
Daily program San Gimignano
- 9:30 - Departure from Florence with our car or minibus to San Gimignano
- 10:30 - visit of the first winery with wine tasting. Brief first part description of the local wines and introduction of the winery. My introduction will be integrated by the manager or the owner of the winery.
- 12:30 - Short walk in San Gimignano's town and light lunch in a restaurant with local food tasting
- 15:30 - visit of the second winery with wine tasting. Brief second part description of the local wines and introduction of the winery. My introduction will be integrated by the manager or the owner of the winery.

- 18:30 - arrival in Florence
